Standing Rock 19,000, Mascots 0

Written by Gabriela Ines DeLisle Diaz, grade 12

The story follows two students, Pilar and Isa, who attend a local basketball game at their high school. Coinciding with the ongoing protests at the Standing Rock Reservation and the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline, the school’s Indian mascot and the athletic culture at the game prompt a deep discussion between the two girls and a fellow classmate.

Directed by Rachel Berry
